Yesterday 444 amazing athletes took part in Dalyan second open waters swimming race from İztuzu beach to the island and back, a total of 2100 meters, amid the strong currents and cool temperatures. Cheered on by over 2500 spectators, these hardy swimmers from around Turkey and beyond tackled the course. The overall first place being taken by a young turkish lady from Çanakkale Nilay Erkal in less than 40 minutes, the oldest swimmer being 88 year old Levent Aksüt from İstanbul.
The medal award ceremony and a small concert was held in the Dalyan square from 2.30pm
